Growing up in the Bronx and then my teenage years in New Jersey there was one constant. . . PIZZA!
I moved to Pittsburgh when I was 20 and quickly found myself at home working with one of the best pizza families in the east suburbs. The Pasqualinos. This is where my passion for eating pizza turned into a passion for making pizza. It was during that time that we won the Best Pizza in Pittsburgh in 2002. This was a pivotal moment for the rest of my life.
A few years later I left to pursue other options and ended up spending over a decade working in higher education.
Over that time my love for pizza had never ceased and it has been a lifelong dream to one day own my own little spot.
It wasn't until the middle of the pandemic and turning 40 that I said if I don't do this now its never going to happen. So I quit my job and I went all in.
I spent the better part of the spring and summer of 2020 perfecting my recipe. I was very fortunate to have my friends in the business both here and back home in NYC acting as consultants to make it the best possible product that I can deliver. From sourcing ingredients to learning bakers percentages, it was a crash course for the pizzeria. I am forever indebted to all of those that helped.
A Slice of New York is just that. Its a spot where you taste a slice of New York, but also experience a little slice of New York.
"Its not New York Style, its New York Pizza"
